TIRANA, October 3 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that “Mirror Albania” will feature a range of components, including the ability to track government projects and public works funded by tax-payers’ money in real time.

Speaking at the presentation of the “Flamingo Mirror” platform—the first interface of “Mirror Albania”—Rama emphasized: “Another component of “Flamingo Mirror’ is the Q&A section. It includes questions gathered in real time—including via artificial intelligence—based on what is being said and written about the specific file in question, alongside official responses.”

“It is crucial to note that “Flamingo Mirror” contains no rhetoric and no political statements targeting various sources that spread fake news or half-truths; it speaks only the language of facts—facts backed by legal references and official documents. It represents, so to speak, the opening up of the executive branch’s ‘secret library’.” The Head of Government stated, “This is the goal. It is a constantly updating overview, because the dossier being presented today is not a closed one; it is an open dossier that will be supplemented with further documents as the process unfolds.”

“In this specific instance—and the Minister of Environment Sofjan Jaupaj is here—the dossier lacks the environmental impact study because that study has not yet been submitted. The dossier also lacks the urban planning and architectural designs, as those plans have not yet been received,” said the prime minister.

According to him, as soon as these—or any other—materials become available, they will be immediately added to the “Overview.”

“I mention this,” Rama continued, “to clarify matters regarding what might appear to be missing.”

“What is missing is simply what is not yet available; that is precisely why the dossier remains open. When a dossier is officially closed, its status changes to ‘closed dossier.’ Therefore, the ‘Flamingo Overview’ contains the open dossiers,” Rama said.

TIRANA, October 3 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama launched the Flamingo Mirror platform today. This new online tool is part of the Pasqyrë Albania (Albania Mirror) system. It aims to make government records open and clear to the public.

Flamingo Mirror works as a public website. It gives citizens direct access to official government files and documentation.

During the presentation, Rama noted that Flamingo Mirror is still in development, but it will let citizens view government files.

PM Rama stated that Pasqyra Albania and its verification platform were created to combat the rising tide of disinformation, unverified rumors and half-truths. He noted that the initiative was driven by public demand following the early June protests, as well as an urgent modern need to protect factual integrity against media manipulation.

The platform will be available in two languages: English and Albanian.

“We have named it “Flamingo Mirror”. It is available in both languages, Albanian and English,” he said.

According to Rama, the first dossier to be presented on the platform is the Sazan-Zvërnec project.

“It certainly had to begin with the most compelling project in the Republic of Albania today—the Sazan-Zvërnec project—and it serves as a resource for everyone,” said Rama.

Rama stated that the goal is to enable citizens to view the full official documentation, rather than rely only on statements or information released by the government. “It will enable citizens to see not just what the government writes, but what is actually written in all official documents and what is contained in all the materials of a government file.

“Furthermore, it is clear that we will consistently feature various government files in this “Flamingo Mirror” with special attention,” said Rama.

The head of government added, “Very soon, we will publish the government file regarding KAYO—another name currently being talked about on social media channels and in broadcast media.”

Rama stated that the publication of these documents aims to make the facts and official materials available to the public.

TIRANA, September 25/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that Albania is building a digital mirror powered by artificial intelligence (AI) to identify manipulation in real time.

In his address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Rama said that the Digital Mirror does not aim to become an arbiter of opinion, but rather an infrastructure for transparency.

“It will test claims against authoritative information and uncover coordinated structures—not just what is visible, but also how and why the information reached the audience. It will not tell citizens what to think. Truth cannot be decreed by any government. It must be data-driven, derived from the right sources, tested, challenged and openly defended,” Rama said.

Rama stated that Albania does not seek to create a “ministry of truth,” but rather aims to protect society against an industry of lies. “We should not fear machines becoming more human; we should fear human beings becoming invisible behind machines,” said Rama, calling for the protection of freedom in a territory where it is under threat.

“Let us ensure that no citizen is left alone facing an increasingly terrifying algorithmic army and that no small nation is forced to borrow its understanding of reality from beyond its own borders. Let us ensure that no democracy wakes up—without an election having taken place—to discover that its citizens have exercised their freedom of choice within a world secretly designed for them by someone they can neither see nor identify as the power behind their choice,” Rama added.

According to him, “Artificial intelligence will not decide whether this century belongs to freedom or to manipulation; we will decide that, and the machine will obey.” “The question is: whom will it obey? According to which law and in service of which human purpose? Albania has made its own modest choice. We have chosen acceleration, not surrender. We have chosen innovation, not abdication. We have chosen the growth—rather than the atrophy—of human capacity. We have chosen freedom of expression. We know what it means to live without it,” said Rama.

Therefore, he continued, “We refuse to confuse it with the unchecked freedom of machines, money and foreign powers to reach anyone, anywhere, without any accountability.”

“We choose the truth not because the truth is always easy or comfortable, but because without a shared commitment to reality, we cannot have a shared public life. And without this commitment from all of us to the reality of the world we inhabit, we will be complicit—we will be implicated in the most terrible betrayal that the parents of this world, in the history of humanity, could ever commit against their children. And without a shared world, there can be no United Nations,” he added. /r.e/a.f/p.s./

TIRANA, July 24 /ATA/ Socialist Party Chairman and Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that governance has entered a new phase, where citizens no longer judge based on past shortcomings, but on expectations for a higher quality of life and services.

Speaking at the Socialist Party parliamentary group meeting, Rama focused on the need for a new approach to communicating with citizens, emphasizing that the government’s facts and achievements are no longer enough to meet society’s expectations.

“We have a lot of facts to respond to lies, slander and accusations, but our facts are no longer enough,” Rama said.

“Therefore, the first lesson I want to share with you is that our facts are no longer enough. Because in the Albania that we radically transformed, people no longer live with the satisfaction of the changes that occur, nor with the encouragement of the things that are built. Today, they live with expectations that grow faster than our ability to respond,” he said.

Speaking about the protest, Rama described it as a mirror of society that should serve as a reflection.

“This was a mirror that society put before us to see ourselves and to understand whether we have the mind and heart in the right place to govern the Albania of this new phase,” Rama said.

Rama said that in that mirror he sees the end of the era of shortages and the beginning of the era of expectations.

According to the head of the Government, in the past the construction of a road, a school or a park was experienced as a collective victory, while today these are considered standards that citizens expect as given.

“In the era of expectations, the new road is a standard, not a victory. Good service is taken for granted and any deficiency is tolerated less and less”, said Rama.

PM Rama referred to scholar Alexis de Tocqueville, recalling his warning that the most dangerous moment for a government is precisely when it starts to change things.

According to Rama, this is the reality that the government faces today, while the country continues the process of development and transformation in order to increase the well-being of its citizens. /e.i/j.p/p.s./
