Kochiu said this procedure was performed on a 73-year-old patient with serious kidney problems and diabetes, who had critical narrowing of the left coronary artery.

Due to underlying pathologies, the operation was performed without the use of extracorporal circulation, keeping the heart working at all times and without chest-opening surgery.

Minister Koçiu expressed gratitude to the team of doctors and nurses: Prof. Assoc. Altin Veshti, Dr. Arber Aliu, Dr. Fjoralba Ejvani, Dr. Ervin Bejko, Esmerilda Bulku, Jonela Burim as well as nurses Majlinda Elezi and Nerenza Elezi.

She also expressed special thanks to Dr. Stak Dushaj from the Zurich University Center in Switzerland for his consistent support.
