PRISTINA, Nov 29 /ATA/ Pristina received an important confirmation today in its bid to host the 2030 Mediterranean Games.

During the Extraordinary Assembly of the ICMG, members approved the proposed presentation and authorised the continuation of preparations—representing a milestone for the capital and for Kosovo as a whole.

Pristina mayor, Përparim Rama, stated that the city is moving confidently toward 2030 with a clear vision, a concrete plan, and the drive of a generation that believes it can make history.

In a Facebook post, he underscored that the Mediterranean Games are more than a sporting event—they represent a major development project that will bring modern urbanisation, new infrastructure, opportunities for young people, and a broad platform to showcase Prishtina to the world.

Rama expressed his gratitude to the Kosovo Olympic Committee, the Capital City Administration and the Government of Kosovo for their commitment, as well as to the Government of Albania and the Albanian Olympic Committee for their cooperation, which ensures Pristina access to the sea, strengthening the Mediterranean dimension of the project. He emphasised that the major work has only just begun and that only by joining forces can the results that Prishtina and the country need be achieved.
