“I am very clear that this abduction is a broad consensus prepared by the most malign actors, who are horrified by the presence of Ilir Meta in public life, the truths he speaks out that have always been proven, the dismantling of Rama-led reform in the Venice Commission, which has undermined the rule of law and installed a dangerous police, judicial, and gang junta, leaving behind even the justice indices in Vietnam,” Meta stated.

According to Meta, the investigations began back in December 2019 based on a complaint from a man convicted by the court for domestic violence, Romeo Karaj, who was also an employee of the regime, OSHEE, and previously a collaborator of Kastriot Ismaili at CEZ-DIA.
In his message, Meta spoke about details of the investigations, emphasizing that Kastriot Ismaili had connections with CEZ long before he became Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Regarding the claims that after this visit on Prague, the price reduction by ERE was made in favor of CEZ, Meta clarified that ERE is an independent institution from the government.

“For four years, Dumani made every effort to get perjured testimonies from Kastriot Ismaili in prison against me, but to no avail,” said Meta.
Ultimately, according to Meta, out of all the claims raised by SPAK regarding the 20-year investigations against him, there are only two cases that require clarification: the alleged non-declaration of healthcare expenses in 2013 in Vienna amounting to 7,341 euros and in November 2014, the amount of 7,984 euros at the clinic in Austria.

“I need to clarify that this arose due to (false) guarantees from my ex-wife that everything was paid and declared according to the law,” said Meta.

Regarding the lobbying, according to Meta, to his knowledge, everything was done in accordance with Albanian and US laws, and he has never authorized any illegal actions.
“I reject with contempt the allegations and insinuations made by SPAK based on the records from my ex-wife’s seized phone, claiming that I influenced the Albanian-American businessman Adrian Shatku and was aware of the benefits received by my ex-wife,” said Meta.
