Asked about the Democratic Party leader’s statement that the opposition would run in coalition in the upcoming elections, Meta said, “I have not followed Mr. Berisha’s interview. We stand in full solidarity with his extraordinary battle against the narco-state and all the sacrifices he is making, which clearly show the regime is horrified at the real opposition and its presence in parliament.”

With regard to the preparations that the Freedom Party is making for the upcoming elections in Tirana district, Meta said that, “PL has started preparations throughout the country and in the Tirana district where I will run as the President of PL and for sure we will achieve a fantastic result”.

Asked at a press conference whether he is being investigated for suspicious financial transactions and real estate abroad, Meta said that SPAK will not find any illegal acts concealed by him.

Meta added that SPAK has been investigating for 5 years now and “has not found, nor will it find, in this world and in any kind of world, any kind of act of Ilir Meta in breach of the law. No illegal acts, no bank accounts anywhere, no undeclared property, no hidden property and nothing else.”

Meta said he accused the head of SPAK of intending to attack the real opposition leaders.
