During a televised interview, the PM was asked about the way Meta was put under arrest, stating that the State Police operate independently and enforce the court’s decisions. Rama added that he has left it to the media to portray Meta as a victim.

“The State Police are not under my control. I am not at the helm of the State Police; there are directors, protocols in place, and then they act pursuant to them. I do not make comments on judicial cases; I have left it to you to treat him as a victim,” said Rama.

“The easiest thing for you is to compare Albania to Colombia, to its drug regimes. Just a few days ago, we opened accession negotiations. The negotiations are not opened with a country like Colombia, which is a narcotics nation, but with a country that is screened based on evidence, not by journalists caught up in a vortex, but by experts ,” Rama continued.

“I don’t make any comments because I have no interest in this case. I am speaking in general terms; I am not addressing the specific case. The police execute the court decision.
