The Albanian Telegraphic Agency (ATA) published images from inside the hospital that is expected to provide care services to local residents in the cities of Fier, Vlore and Gjirokaster, and the modern facility represents for them an opportunity for quality health care services near their residence without having to travel to Tirana.

The new hospital has been equipped with the state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, high quality biomedical devices, and it will deliver real-time radiology services around-the-clock, including medical scanners, magnetic resonance imaging, and angiography.

New hospital will also serve as centre of scientific research. The Memorial Regional Hospital in Fier will employ 398 medical personnel, including 56 Turkish medical personnel, who will be serving during a transitional period to assist their Albanian colleagues in technology and know-how transfer. //a.i/

“Following the construction of the Hospital of Fier, a center of knowledge transfer equipped with the state-of-the-art technology and infrastructure, set up in the neuralgic points of the health system, we enter next phase of Health Reform, Hospital Autonomy and service forbidding bribery in any form to anyone in Albanian hospitals,” the Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Thursday.

Major investments have been made in health system while a series of hospitals and health centers have been reconstructed such as, the new surgery hospital at QSUT, the new pediatric hospital in Durrës, the new maternity hospital in Lezha, the new maternity hospital in Saranda, the new maternity hospital in Korça, the hospital new Emergency and Pathology in Elbasan, new resuscitation unit in Vlora Hospital, new polyclinic of Vlora, new polyclinic of Lushnja, the specialized clinic for interstitial lung diseases in Tirana, otherwise known as the Dispensary. //a.i/
