Balla meets Hofreiter: Gratitude to Germany for supporting Albania on its EU membership journey

TIRANA, Sept 29 /ATA/ Socialist Party parliamentary group chairman Taulant Balla met today with Anton Hofreiter, chair of the German Bundestag’s Committee on European Union Affairs, at the Parliament.

The meeting addressed Albania’s progress towards EU membership, the advancement of its accession negotiations, and closer cooperation with Germany in support of the country’s European integration efforts.

Balla highlighted the continued support and role of the German Bundestag and Federal Government towards Albania, underlining the importance of this partnership on the country’s path towards European Union membership.

“Grateful to the Bundestag and the Federal Government for their continued support for Albania’s European path. We are moving forward towards concluding the accession negotiations by the end of 2027,” Balla said.

The meeting also addressed the continuation of reforms linked to the integration process, strengthening interparliamentary cooperation, and the importance of continued support from European partners for Albania’s progress towards EU membership.

Albania remains committed to meeting the obligations arising from the accession negotiations, with the aim of making steady progress towards European Union membership.
