Consequently, Parliament Speaker, Lindita Nikolla, decided to cancel the meeting of the Council for Regulation, Mandates and Immunity, which was scheduled to take place at 18:00hrs.

“MP Alqi Bllako has submitted to Parliament the statement whereby he willingly relinquishes the mandate of MP and in result the Assembly cannot continue the procedures for reviewing the request of the Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime to authorize the arrest of MP Alqi Bllako, ” sources from parliament say.

The Special Prosecution Against Corruption and Organized Crime submitted to the Assembly yesterday the request for getting authorization for the arrest of MP Alqi Bllako. The request comes after investigations into abuses in the construction and setting to operation of the waste treatment plants.
