TIRANA, Nov 16 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, and Minister of Education and Sports, Evis Kushi, participated in the ceremony organized by the University of Medicine, where 300 students symbolically donned white coats, embarking on the journey of Medical Studies.

“I am very delighted, because in fact the guarantee that our health system will come up to the standards that Albanian citizens deserve, is exactly the fact that the best students study Medicine. And I am very proud of that. The mutual trust physician-patient is based on three pillars: Honesty, Knowledge, Professional Skills. The physicians have stuck to these pillars over the centuries. Believe me, no mistake can stain the reputation of white coats. Therefore, it is very important that on top of the knowledge and professional skills, you are guided by honesty and integrity that characterize this profession, “Manastirliu said in her speech.
Minister of Health said that the commitment to the Pact for the University has been implemented and will continue with new projects for improvement of teaching quality.

“I am pleased that as part of the Pact for University, today we have projects to move forward. Together with the Rector of the University of Medicine we are already lobbying to build for the first time within the compound of University Hospital Center, a clinical bio-simulation center, which will support not only scientific research, your education, but will also help ramp up cooperation with the counterpart centers of European countries,” said Manastirliu.

In her remarks, Minister of Health stressed that today doctors, nurses and all medical professionals are employed with transparency and based on merit through the portal “Doctors for Albania” and “Nurses for Albania.”

The websites “Doctors for Albania,” “Nurses for Albania” guarantee merit and transparency-based system for your employment. Only through these platforms, valuable instruments in your hands, we have made it possible that in four years, 1200 doctors and 3800 nurses have been employed on merit and with transparency “, said Manastirliu.
