TIRANA, May 30/ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today in the social media panoramic views of Mat area, appreciating it as one of the destinations that every visitor should explore.

“With the wonderful views of Mati, where nature offers an extraordinary panorama and a destination that should not be missed,” Rama wrote in his post, highlighting the natural beauties and tourist potential of this northern area of Albania.

The post is in the framework of promoting the country’s natural resources and encouraging local tourism on the eve of the summer season.

Mati region offers a number of tourist destinations that combine natural beauties with historical and cultural values.

Qafë-Shtama Natural Park, a protected area that lies on the border between Mati and Kruja is among the most popular spots. This park is known for its dense pine forests, clean water sources and fresh air, making it a favorite destination for hiking and relaxing in nature. There is also a villa built by King Zog, known as the “Villa of the Queen Mother”, which adds to the historical value of the park.

Besides Qafë-Shtama Park, Mati also has other places of tourist interest, such as Macukull Castle, a medieval fortress that offers panoramic views of the valley and Zog Bridge, a historical structure that connects the banks of the Mat River.

The area is also rich in cultural traditions and the characteristic cuisine of northern Albania, offering a good experience for visitors. /a.f/p.s./

TIRANA, May 22 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama told a meeting with local residents in the towns of Klos and Mat on Monday that his Socialist Party’s landslide victory in the May 14 local elections poses a tremendous challenge for the ruling Socialists to deliver and implement major projects in the municipalities traditionally voting for the centre-right Democratic Party.

At a meeting as part of his post-election thank you tour, PM Rama noted that the SP victory was backed also by the right-leaning voters.

“It is about municipalities that have never voted in favour of the Socialist Party in the last 30 years. I have been told that a significant number of individuals known for their right-leaning affiliations in your communities, have publicly declared their vote in favour of our candidates this time,” he said.

The Premier thanked all voters regardless of their political affiliations and beliefs.

“I would also like to thank all of those who declined to cast their ballots, because although unwilling to vote for SP, they also refused to vote for Ilir Meta and therefore they significantly contributed to the election result,” he said.

The government head stated that the election result represents a major challenge for the ruling Socialist Party to deliver change and transformation projects in the traditionally right-leaning municipalities too.

In his remarks at meeting as part of a tour across the country to thank voters for giving his ruling Socialist Party a stunning victory in May 14 mayoral elections, the government head noted that the local elections result was exceptional and meaningful in many aspects.

“The election result has also created very high expectations. I am convinced that each and every one of us is committed to doing proper things. Respect for the citizens is of utmost importance, because not everything can be done and the opportunities always fail to meet the demands and the needs. We need to create an atmosphere with everyone being felt heard and best represented,” he said.

PM Rama said that the election result is a huge responsibility as it is about many citizens who didn’t use to vote for the Socialist Party previously.

TIRANA, February 15/ATA/ The Zogu Bridge over the Mat River will be subject to emergency intervention.

Prime Minister Edi Rama wrote today in the social media that the work is ready to start to revive the cultural monument, the Zogu Bridge over the Mat River.

“The project drawn up by an inter-institutional group has already received the green light from the National Council of Cultural Heritage for intervention in this object”, wrote PM Rama in a post on social media.

The technical implementation project for the emergency intervention in the cultural monument, Zogu Bridge, is the result of the work of respected professors and experts of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Polytechnic University and the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, which, by order of the prime minister, got together for the design of the project, within a short time and in context of the Pact for the University.

A few days ago, Minister of Culture Elva Margariti announced the installation of monitoring equipment, which will provide technical and scientific data for design of implementation project.

According to Margariti, the approval of this project paves the way for the generation of funds, the start of design tasks and the launch of integral interventions to solve the problem on the ground, in the entire facility.

Zogu Bridge was inaugurated on May 26, 1927 and was designed by the Swiss engineer Erwin Schnitter.

The bridge is built with six arches, each 54 meters long. Built with cement and iron as one of the most modern bridge construction systems (for that time), even today, it has not lost its beauty and value./p.s./
