TIRANA, Sept 2 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, inspected the works in the new day hospital (outpatient facility), part of the second phase of the implementation of the master plan for the modernization of the “Mother Teresa” University Hospital Center.
Describing the day hospital as an added value for TUHC, Manastirliu underlined that the new facility will reduce the flow of appointments in some internal medicine services.

“In March, when this investment is set to be completed, we will have a new hospital structure, with an outpatient facility, including the hemodialysis service, the toxicology service, with a revamped reception hall, which will greatly facilitate the circulation of patients for placement of family members that will be completely organized by this new entry. I am convinced that this will also be an added value as an investment for the entire hospital, first, because it will reduce circulations in the central hospital and the day hospital facilitates this part, as well as the outpatient services such as chemotherapy or other interventions, which will have to be performed within 24 hours in this day hospital, but also the dialysis service, which will be up to contemporary standards and parameters, in a new structure, built from scratch,” said Manastirliu.

This investment covering an area of 3,500 m2, entails a new waiting room, day hospital, capacities for hematology, rheumatology and internal medicine services; a microsurgery area, 3 examination rooms. It will also house the Hemodialysis Service and the Toxicology Service.
