The U.S. Charge d’Affaires Nancy VanHorn said in her remarks that the ceremony commemorated the rich history of the Marine Corps, but also reflected on the ideals and values that bind Marines together – honor, courage, and commitment.

According to VanHorn, these principles have guided them through countless challenges and have forged an unbreakable bond that’s unrivaled.

“Our Marines are a diverse group of individuals, each with their unique stories and experiences, but they’re united by the same spirit of service and sacrifice. Their sacrifice has paved the way for us to live freely, for a great nation to prosper, for our democracy to flourish,” she added.

VanHorn underlined that the Marines of the Embassy Tirana Detachment exemplify Marine Corps values.
