In her remarks, Ambassador Kim said: As the deputy mayor mentioned, just a few days ago President Biden, went to Kyiv. There should be no doubt where the United States stands and what the United States believes in. We stand with Ukraine, with the nation of Ukraine, with the people of Ukraine. And what we stand for together is freedom, the sacred sovereignty of nations, the right of people to exist.

There should be no doubt that we will be with the people of Ukraine, and we will stand for these principles as long as it takes.

President Biden reminded the world that Putin is dead wrong in his attempt to impose his will against Ukraine. Putin thought Ukraine was weak. He was wrong. He found the strongest nation, the strongest people possible. He thought the West was divided. He was wrong. The West has united as never before – NATO, the EU, all of us who believe in freedom and in liberty.

He thought he could outlast us. He was wrong. The people of Ukraine have persevered through a horrific year, despite all the challenges. We are proud as their friends to stand with them. The sign before us, reads, “Tirana Stands with Ukraine.” But the reality is, it’s not just Tirana that stands with Ukraine. It’s Albania that stands with Ukraine. But it’s not just Albania that stands with Ukraine. It’s the United States that stands with Ukraine. And it’s not just the United States that stands with Ukraine. It’s the whole world. It’s the whole world that stands with Ukraine.

And the world knows we’ve seen it. We will not forget places like Kharkiv and Mariupol. We have seen credible and shocking reports of torture, sexual violence, abduction, filtration camps, child custody centers, and mass killings. We will not forget this. And we will ensure that we stand together and bring justice and freedom.
