Vata/ Parliamentary Committee on Legal Affairs, Public Administration and Human Rights concluded on Thursday the review of the request filed by 49 MPs to trigger the procedure for dismissal of President of the Republic and decided to propose establishing the Commission of Inquiry for Meta’s dismissal.

Meta was invited to the hearing but did not show up due to official meetings he is scheduled to hold today.

The Chairman of the Law Committee Ulsi Manja said that President of the Republic has caused great damage to Albania in relation to strategic partners that can no longer be rectified by him, but it is up to the Albanian Parliament as the constitutional authority to restore the honor of the Republic harmed by his discrediting behavior in foreign policy relations.

“I invite you to vote this report of the Law Committee and propose to the Albanian Parliament the approval of this report asking the establishment of a Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry to investigate all these violations of a constitutional nature.”

With 14 votes in favor and 1 against, the Law Committee approved the decision proposing to parliament the establishment of Commission of Inquiry to investigate the violations of President Ilir Meta.
