“We are taking all the measures to get this hospital ready if all the capacities in the current two hospitals with more than 273 bedding units available are depleted. Here are 108 beds with all the medical equipment and materials. The intensive care unit is also ready,” Manastirliu said.

During the inspection of COVID 4 hospital, Manastirliu stressed that all the measures have been taken to employ more than 150 employees that will support the staff responsible for treatment of COVID-19 cases.

“This is a challenge for TUHC, because management of caseload outside the hospital requires reinforced staff. We have taken measures to employ more than 150 employees to support the COVID-19 staff. The recruitment of new employees definitely creates the opportunity to serve faster and more efficiently, ” said Manastirliu.

Minister of Health did not rule out the possibility of involving the “Shefqet Ndroqi” hospital in management of Covid caseload if necessary.

The head of the Infectious Diseases Ward, Najada Çomo said that most of hospitalizations are unvaccinated.
