TIRANA, July 2 /ATA/- Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has closely followed the vaccination process in Lushnja, where she announced that next week mobile vaccine units will start vaccination against COVID-19 on the field, in far-flung areas where citizens have not been vaccinated yet.

“As of next week we will be on the ground with mobile vaccine units to deliver shots near communities that have not been inoculated yet,” said Manastirliu.

Minister of Health said that open days of mass vaccination will continue during summer to boost immunization.

“We have already lowered the eligibility vaccination age to +50 years, but also continue with blended vaccination. Open vaccination days will continue. We will also organize open days of vaccination during July and August to ensure that as many citizens of different age groups as possible are vaccinated, ” said Manastirliu.

Appealing to the citizens to get vaccinated to make sure that a high percentage of the population is immunized by fall, Manastirliu said that vaccination is being delivered to the elderly and people with special needs.

“Our vaccination campaign will continue at high rates. Even during the summer months we will continue to be not only structured in capillary way in health centers or concentrated vaccination sites, but we have already started to hit the far-flung communities, close to all those who do not have the opportunity to come to the health centre to receive the jab. Especially for the elderly who cannot move, for people with disabilities, who are unable to come to healthcare centres. Health care will reach out to them. Therefore, we are already coordinating with all health centres, with our field groups to continue vaccination apace,” Manastirliu said.
