“I am beyond happy that works are progressing at high rates. We have finalized the first phase, including the construction of the hospital pharmacy and administration offices, with the new emergency and operating rooms scheduled to be completed and set to operation soon. Meanwhile the project for Kukes hospital restoration and construction of new maternity home is set to be completed soon,” Manastirliu said.

Minister of Health underlined that despite the daunting situation of pandemics, the work for transformation of the health system has continued uninterruptedly.

“Even in this year like no other, our work has continued uninterruptedly in terms of investments and healthcare projects on the ground from Kukes, Lezha, Berat, Durres to Tirana, which is also the biggest site for transformation of TUHC, but also in all other hospitals, such as the new memorial hospital in Fier, which is expected to be delivered very soon, ” said Manastirliu.

Other than the hospital and new maternity home of Kukës, currently the Ministry of Health is investing in the construction of maternity hospital of Berat, Lezha, the reconstruction and expansion of the maternity hospital ‘Queen Geraldine,’ the Hospital of Internal Medicine, Pediatrics at TUHC, etc.
