TIRANA, July 26 /ATA/ Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, visited the Regional Hospital of Shkodra, where she met with junior doctors serving in specialties such as emergency, anesthesia-reanimation, pediatrics and cardiology.

“We are in Shkodra with 5 young specialty doctors, who have already been attached to this hospital and have started work. I am really proud that we have the opportunity to strengthen the services in hospital of Shkodra, by adding doctors, such as intensive care doctors or emergency doctors, pediatricians and also cardiologists. These teams will really improve the delivery of medical services in the hospital, will strengthen the services in our hospitals and, above all, will guarantee that medical protocols are followed on time and patient treatments are provided with quality,” said Manastirliu.

Minister Manastirliu said that even doctors who have fulfilled their obligations to the Ministry of Health will continue to serve at regional and university hospitals, so that citizens can receive services as close to their homes as possible.

Emphasizing that the investments in Shkodra will continue, Manastirliu said: “We have other plans and investments coming up for the Shkodra hospital. We also want to start the rehabilitation of the outpatient clinic of Shkodra, another critical investment for the whole hospital, because the outpatient service in the regional hospital of Shkodra will be designed in another format. We will replicate the good models of Tirana, Lushnja, Vlora, new outpatient clinics, where a decent service is provided from the point of view of infrastructure, but also from the point of view of services, because new equipment have been installed, which we plan to do in Shkodra,” said Manastirliu.

Present at the Shkodra Regional Hospital, the Minister of State for the Protection of Entrepreneurship, also MP of Shkodra, Edona Bilali said: “As the deputy of Shkodra I am really pleased that junior specialist doctors have joined our Regional Hospital to further increase the standard of service.”
