“Thanks to an agreement that is concluded with Pfizer in the follow-up to the first agreement whereby 500 thousand vaccines were secured, another 500,760 doses of vaccine will be delivered within December of this year. Meanwhile, through the Covax instrument, by the end of the year, we expect another 400 thousand doses of vaccine,” Manastirliu said.

In her remarks, Manastirliu said that thanks to the agreements with various companies but also with partners such as the EU and member states, more than 2 million doses of vaccine have arrived in our country.

Manastirliu said that they are in negotiations with the Pfizer company to secure additional batch of vaccines in the coming year to increase the vaccine coverage and to cope with any scenario.

Regarding the vaccinations administered so far, Manastirliu said that about 44% of the target population, over 18 years old, have been vaccinated. A total of 1,764,714 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been administered since the launch of vaccine rollout.
