TIRANA, July 3 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Thursday that “Ina Majko is the first of many to follow the new path initiated on May 11, steering Albania toward its 2030 objective of joining the European Union.”
“She has just been appointed Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection, having stood out in our May 11 team. Even though she didn’t secure a seat in the new Parliament, she adds great value to the SP 2030 team in representing various communities and stakeholders,” Rama wrote in a social media post.

Rama highlighted that Ina joined the team as a chosen representative of the Roma community and, as the first person from this community to serve at the government cabinet level in the country’s history, she will focus on addressing the needs of society’s most vulnerable groups in the area of Social Protection.
The Prime Minister highlighted that Ina Majko’s journey is one of a child who grew up facing prejudice and significant economic challenges, and of a talented young woman driven by energy and determination to succeed. She not only excelled in her studies abroad and mastered five foreign languages but also emerged as a powerful advocate for her community on social media.

“I hope Ina will be a significant addition to the work of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection, and an additional support for families and children in need,” said Prime Minister Rama.
