Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development Anila Denaj wrote in the social media about her meeting with Rigers, a representative of one of the most prominent wineries in our country, about whom “La Revue du Vin de France” carried an article.

“In the evaluation of red wines, “Kallmet Rezerva 2019” ranks with the highest points, 93 points, reminding us once again of the significance of cultivating Albanian autochthonous varieties”, wrote Denaj.

According to her, there are also other wineries evaluated with 88-92 points that operate in different areas of the country and represent the excellence of Albanian wine.

“This is a very good moment for Albanian wine and irrefutable proof that our quality production is entering the world map of the best wines. Being present in France, the country with the highest reputation in wine production, is not only a success, but also a clear message for the strengthening of domestic products alongside international ones,” wrote Denaj.

The minister highlighted the policies the government has pursued for development of the sector, such as the Wine Law and the Wine Commission will guarantee high standards, support for wineries and increased international competitiveness. /j.p/p.s./

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared an article by the leading “Travel+Leisure” magazine that informs and helps people find the bluest waters.

According to the “Travel and Leisure” magazine, CV Villas team collected unfiltered images of 200 beaches around the globe, then analyzed and cross-referenced that with the color code of the certified bluest shade of blue, YInMn Blue, which was discovered by scientists at Oregon State University in 2009.

The study has found that Pasqyra Beach in Albania has the bluest water in the world.

“Pasqyra Beach claims the top spot, with its sea being just 12.4 points off the YInMn Blue shade,” the company shared in the findings provided to Travel + Leisure. “Known around the world as ‘Mirror Beach,’ it is considered to be a highlight of the Albanian coastline when the sunlight hits the surface of the sea, creating a mirror-like effect.”

Joining Pasqyra Beach on the list of bluest waters is Paralia Mpouka (Long Beach) in Greece in second, sitting just 13.6 points away from YInMn Blue,  followed by Kassiopi in Greece in third at just 14.1 points away. They are joined by Plage de la Vernette in France, and Kaputas Beach in Turkey, rounding out the top five.

“The moral of the story is if you want to see some seriously blue water, book a flight to Albania and Greece as soon as possible,” the magazine said.

Tourism has become an important sector with great relevance to the Albanian economy. Official data show that 6.3 million foreign tourists visited Albania since January, significantly up from 5.1 million visitors during the same period of the previous year.

“This is what the well-known magazine VSD suggests to all its French readers, promoting this week the fantastic beaches and landscapes, but also our culture and traditions, which are attracting more and more French visitors every year like never before,” wrote Rama.

“Escape to Albania: In the heart of the unknown beautiful country”. This is the title of the article published this week in “VSD”, which explores “the certain beauties of Albania, where history meets natural beauty”.

“Welcome to Albania, this long-unknown Mediterranean jewel, which now reveals its treasures to curious travelers. With its pristine beaches, majestic mountains and rich history, Albania is a destination that is certain to surprise you. Away from the tourist crowds, this fascinating place offers an authentic immersion in its culture and traditions”, wrote the French magazine.

“VSD” also wrote about the beaches of the Albanian Riviera, Thethi and Lake Koman, but also the traditions and culture of the country.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared Saturday the magazine’s latest article on Albania’s top producers and wines, underlining that the country has incredible potential for quality winemaking.

“Albanian wines attract attention of the leading British magazine Decanter for the first time ever. The magazine highly praises and highlights some of the best wineries and wine brands in  the country, saying Albania has an incredible potential for quality wine and this way confirming success of our support policies for this authentic product of the country’s agricultural culture,” PM Rama said via the social media.

The magazine notes that Albania’s viticultural history dates back to at least the 8th century BC, when ancient Illyrians inhabited the Balkan Peninsula; yet, now, nearly 3,000 years later, Albania is at an infancy stage of modern-day wine development, a diamond in the rough virtually unknown to most of the wine world.
