TIRANA, Jan 23 /ATA/ In today’s press briefing on the latest economic data review, Delina Ibrahimaj, Minister of Economy and Innovation, revealed that the “Made in Albania” law is set to be approved this year.
Ibrahimaj emphasized that the law aims to protect locally produced goods while also promoting their exports.

“Another component is the law that we will approve by 2026 for ‘Made in Albania,’ which aims to promote domestic products both within the country and abroad, build and protect the ‘Made in Albania’ brand, and encourage the export of Albanian products. The second element is streamlining and digitalization. A portion of business costs in trade are linked to procedures and non-tariff barriers. The digitalization process of customs and state agencies operating at customs points is crucial for reducing these barriers,” emphasized Ibrahimaj.
Minister Ibrahimaj stated, “For several years, we have been working in collaboration with the World Bank on a major project aimed at reducing customs processing times through the establishment of the ‘National Single Window.’ This initiative will enhance the efficiency of border points, reduce both tariff and non-tariff barriers, and establish more predictable regulations for operators.”

According to her, another key component of this project is the acceleration of customs transit, aimed at facilitating cross-border trade.

Minister Ibrahimaj announced that the second phase of the project will commence in 2026, with a focus on the modernization and digitalization of quality infrastructure.
“This project is closely associated with the third component, harmonization. We are committed to ensuring that Albanian businesses are well-acquainted with and adhere to European Union standards, facilitating their integration into the single European market. To this end, we will approve a program this year that will prepare businesses for the joint European market, offering information, training, and financial resources to support businesses in meeting the required standards,” stated Ibrahimaj.
Minister Ibrahimaj stated, “This program aims to enhance the competitiveness of Albanian products, facilitate access to EU funds and grants, and promote the sustainable growth of exports.”
