During this meeting, they discussed on the economic cooperation between Albania and Italy, in particular with the region of Lombardy, as well as the possibility of further increasing Italian investments in our country.

Mete positively assessed the very good economic and commercial relations between the two countries, as well as expressed commitment to deepen them further.

Minister Mete said that Albania offers investment opportunities in many sectors such as energy, infrastructure, agriculture and especially in tourism, which had a very good performance last year, becoming one of the most attractive areas for investments.

Also, Minister Mete expressed his gratitude for the continuous support and proactive role of Italy in supporting the integration of Albania in the European Union.

For his part, President of the Lombardy region expressed interest in deepening economic cooperation with Albania, considering our country attractive for Italian enterprises to expand their economic activity.

Referring to the data, the total volume of trade between Italy and Albania for 2023 was 3.5 billion Euros. For the year 2023, Italy ranks fourth in terms of the stock of foreign investments in our country, with an upward trend in recent years. About 5,767 active Italian businesses, with joint or entirely Italian capital, currently operate in Albania./p.s./
