TIRANA, March 10 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama, during the meeting with the SP structures in Shkodra, described this city as the locomotive that will pull the entire north with it.

He stated that investments will be made to attract more tourists to the north, as the mountain tourism will net more profits than the coast.

Rama emphasized that the construction of roads throughout Albania is in full swing.

“Shkodra can grow into the model of a positive transformation and the locomotive that will pull the whole north with it. The claims that the north has been abandoned are untrue. We have made investments in the north and we are making investments to unlock the potential of the mountain tourism, because I strongly believe that we have a deep-rooted stereotype in our heads, the beach or the south, but the cleanest air of the tourism industry in Albania is in the mountains. We will bring tourists here and the tourism industry in Albania will net more profits in the mountains than on the coast. But this takes time”, he said.

Rama announced that road construction delays cannot be avoided and that this is a phenomenon that occurs in every country.
“Once the road opens for motorists, there are outpourings of criticism. As for the delays, those who live abroad, in Germany, England, France better ask there how many years it takes for a road to be completed. They are not easy things to do, but they must be done well. Landslides could occur when roads have not been completed, such as the case of Erseka, which is still under construction. Once the road is completed and delivered, then things will be ok. But we cannot avoid these things”, the Prime Minister said among other things.
