In a media briefing, Ilir Meta’s lawyer, Genc Gjokutaj, provided details regarding the questioning of the head of the Freedom Party at SPAK today.

Gjokutaj said that the only issue Ilir Meta was questioned about was the lobbying activities in the United States.
He stated that Meta was highly cooperative in the questioning providing every information he remembered, as the documents have not yet been provided to the defense.
“Today, he was questioned only about the lobbying in the U.S.. Meta was cooperative during the questioning, without referring to the documents that will be provided to us,” he said.
Meta has been placed under “pre-trial detention” as SPAK investigates him for three criminal charges: “Corruption” on three counts, “Money laundering,” and “Concealment of assets.”
