The Bank of Albania announces that, in the first quarter of 2021, mortgage loans account for over 70% of household loan and its share has increased by 0.7% compared to the corresponding period last year.

The currency composition of mortgage loan is easily dominated by local currency-denominated loan with 56% of the total.

The average interest rate on lek-denominated loan to households was 6.5% in the first quarter of the year.

While the interest rate on euro-denominated mortgage loan is 3.3%. /j.p/sm/
