Prime Minister Edi Rama shared this case on social media today, praising the work of the medical team and the advancement of surgical services in regional hospitals.

Rama wrote that, “Appropriate minimally invasive techniques cut down on trauma, pain, hospital time and recovery duration.”

The surgery was performed by a surgical team at the Vlora regional hospital composed by Dr. Olsi Muçaj, Dr. Kristjan Musaraj and Dr. Edmond Breshanaj.

This case shows how public hospitals are growing stronger with new technology, allowing doctors to perform modern surgeries for everyone.

In her remarks Minister Manastirliu said that, “a delicate and complicated surgical intervention for cystic hepatic echinococcosis has been successfully performed today with laparoscopy, by the Turkish-Albanian team at the Memorial Hospital of Fier.”

“The intervention was successfully performed under the direction of prof. dr. Bulent Cavit Yuksel. The Memorial Hospital of Fier is expanding every day the medical services according to the best standards to come to the aid of south region citizens,” Minister Manastirliu added. //a.i/
