PRISTINA, October 27/ATA/ President of the European Commission Ursula Von der Leyen said that the European Union will not give up, but remain united in fight against the energy crisis.

In a joint media conference with President Vjosa Osmani in Pristina, Von der Leyen said that, “We stand side by side with you; we will deal with this crisis with unity and solidarity. It is important for you to have access to the purchase of gas; you should also join the efforts to purchase gas; you will also benefit from the legal proposals and discussions we have in the EU regarding the gas prices. We are trying to ensure that the prices do not go too far up since we are an energy union and you will benefit from this”, she said.

President of the EC said that, “We will give you a grant of 75 million Euros to immediately support vulnerable businesses and households”.

Von der Leyen underlined that Kosovo will also benefit from EU aid for the region in the amount of 500 million Euros.

She also reiterated the position of the Commission on visa liberalization for Kosovo.

“Kosovo deserves visa liberalization; you have met all the standards. Now, we have reconfirmed that you have attained all standards. Our task is to convince the whole European Council, most of them stand by your side. A lot of diplomatic efforts and clarifications are required; you can count on us in the Commission because we will do our best to help you in this direction”, she said. /KosovaPress/p.s./

PRISTINA, October 6/ATA/ As soon as he arrived in Brdo, near Kranj, Slovenia to attend the Summit of leaders of the European Union and the Western Balkans, Prime Minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti said to reporters that the European Union has done a great injustice to Kosovo regarding the non-liberalization of visa regime.

Nevertheless, he added that there is still hope that the summit will make the EU stick to its promises.

“It has been more than three years since the European Commission recommended for the second time visa liberalization for the citizens of Kosovo. It has been a great injustice, an absence of justice towards our citizens who have suffered a lot. We hope that this summit will make the EU stay true to its essence, the enlargement. As the largest historical project of peace and prosperity since World War II, the EU must expand to be Europe. The Western Balkans lack the EU to become Europe,” Kurti said. / KosovaPress /p.s./
