Lezhe Mayor Pjerin Ndreu noted in his remarks during a conversation with the Prime Minister Edi Rama and local residents on Sunday that the whole area in Lezhe has been transformed into a huge reconstruction site with many reconstruction projects already underway and in an advanced stage.

“Thanks to your and the government support, Lezhe is today a huge reconstruction site,” Ndreu said at the meeting, adding that Lezhe was one of the worst-hit areas, but all quake-related problems have now been fully addressed.

“We have provided the government’s compensation grant to many affected families and the process goes on with a number of remaining families. The government has also allocated a total of 25 billion lek to support reconstruction of the single-family homes and the damaged apartment buildings and Lezhe has entered a stage of fully recovering from the earthquake effects,” he said.

Mayor Ndreu also noted that a total transformation is also underway regarding the very sensitive and long-time water supply problem.

“Investment projects worth 20 million euros have been already signed and their implementation will kick off very soon,” Ndreu added.
