Bank of Albania announces that non-performing loans across the business segment dropped to 7.1%, at an all- time low in the last decade.

According to the BoA, the performance of the business segment remains decisive in the quality of the bank loan portfolio, because this segment accounts for more than 60% of the total lending to the economy.

Bank experts say that the improving balance sheets of Albanian businesses, which are reflected in the decline of non-performing loan ratio, have contributed to the growth of credit to the private sector.

Official data show that lending to business recorded an average increase of 7.7% during the second quarter, reflecting a relatively rapid and steady growth of lek –denominated credit, lending for investment purposes and lending for home purchase.
