TIRANA, June 22 /ATA/ As one passes the bay of Porto Palermo, the village of Qeparo—situated 13 kilometers south of Himara—has, in recent years, emerged as one of the most sought-after destinations among both domestic and international tourists.

For those opting to spend their holidays along the southern coastline, the connecting infrastructure of the villages throughout the Riviera ensures not only convenient mobility but also breathtaking views, framed by the crystal-clear waters of the Ionian Sea and the verdant hillsides.

Prime Minister Edi Rama shared today on social media images of the coastal road landscape in Qeparo, a gem of the Albanian Riviera.

Qeparo is regarded as one of the oldest villages along the Albanian coastline, bearing witness to the enduring life and culture of its local inhabitants across the centuries.

Divided between a historic hilltop village and a more recent seaside settlement, Qeparo stands out as a distinguished tourist destination, offering visitors a unique blend of tradition, history, and natural beauty.

The upper village preserves traditional stone houses and olive groves, where families have lived for generations. The historical center of this village includes several designated cultural monuments, among them traditional dwellings and religious structures.

Meanwhile, the lower part offers direct access to the beach, featuring a newly built promenade that stretches along the entire coastline. This development has given Qeparo the characteristics of a typical Mediterranean tourist village, where the area’s traditions and distinct identity have been carefully preserved.
