“If someone has made a mistake in this landfill, they must be held accountable and the prime minister has been clear, the SP has been clear, the party leadership has been clear. But to say that now we will no longer have landfills and incinerators because someone made a mistake is like saying that we will not build highways and hospitals. In this sense, we will continue working on this landfill, but I can say that someone is in a rush to point the finger at people who are absolutely transparent and have done their duty to clean the city,” he said during an interview.

Veliaj explained that only two engineers from the municipality of Tirana were summoned to testify in this case and one of them is retiree, contrary to what was said.

He stated that he has a clear conscience and that the fabrication against him was ridiculous, which can be dismissed with three pages.
So, Veliaj said, not only do I have no reason to doubt the investigation, but on the contrary, the order I gave is that we are open and have no complex as long as the documents are compliant and that the property did not belong to the municipality, but it was simply under its administration.
