TIRANA, May 19 /ATA/ – More than 130 teachers were awarded Appreciation Certificates for their contribution as part of the dedicated TV channel project launched to run educational content due to the closure of schools in the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak in Albania.

Prime Minister Edi Rama, the Minister of Education Evis Kushi, local and international partners attended the event on Wednesday.

In her opening remarks, Education Minister Kushi said that teachers involved in this project have successfully coped with noble mission to help pre-university education students not miss out on their education during the pandemic.

“Around 7,000 recorded and aired videos on education dedicated broadcaster ‘RTSH Shkollë (RTSH School” since March 2020. This is not an easy thing to do and these videos are a product of the rare dedication in history of the Albanian education system,” Kushi said.

Under the agreement with the national broadcaster Albanian Radio-Television, the school broadcasts will continue regularly also during the post-pandemic period.

“Apart from a TV channel to help students for lessons, it has been transformed into an educational channel, where scientific, historical, cultural documentaries and children’s films are shown every day,” Kushi said.

Education Minister also highlighted the precious contribution of the education TV-dedicated channel and expressed gratitude to the development partners UN Albania”, UNICEF Albania, Save the Children, World Vision, the Embassy of the Netherlands, etc., for their support and contribution to Albania.
