TIRANA, July 11 /ATA/ Minister of Education and Sports, Evis Kushi, stated on Monday that “MoES has carried out all financial procedures for rewarding all athletes who have won medals, through the relevant sports federations, according to the legislation in force.”

“After that, it is the responsibility of the federations themselves to transfer these government bonuses to the athletes’ personal accounts,” emphasizes Kushi.

Kushi reacted in a post on her social media account regarding the news published in some media according to which the athlete Briken Calja has not yet been rewarded for winning the championship.

“I’m reading today in the media an untrue news that the government is dragging out the financial reward for the champion Briken Calja. For the information of the public opinion, I am publishing the payment orders for the reward of Briken together with his coach, not only for the world championship but also for the European one,” Kushi said.
The minister calls on all federations to fulfill their obligations towards athletes within the specified time lines.
“The Albanian government will continue to support unreservedly our elite athletes and the development of sports as a whole,” Kushi said.
MoES has made a decision dated 21.04.2022 that the athlete Briken Calja, winner of the fourth place in the breakaway style, the second place in the push style and the third place in the doubles, in the European Adult Weightlifting Championship held in Russia should rewarded 21 00 000 ALL and coach Gerard Toska 840 000 ALL.
Also, under this Order, the athlete Briken Calja, winner of the first place in the breakaway style, the second place in the push style and the second place in the doubles in the World Weightlifting Championship held in Uzbekistan, will be rewarded 17,800,000 lek and coach Gerard Toska will be rewarded the amount of 7,120,000 lek.
