TIRANA, July 7 /ATA/-By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama said on Friday that “I did my best until the last minute to meet yesterday with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti,” confirming once again that Kurti is invited to the Tirana meeting for the Berlin Process.

In a joint press conference in Podgorica with the Prime Minister of Montenegro, Dritan Abazovic, Rama answered the journalists’ questions about Kurti’s refusal to meet him yesterday.

“I didn’t go to Pristina to marry Albin and I don’t feel offended, like a groom whose bride didn’t show up for a date. I went to Pristina just as I came here and I will go to Belgrade after a while to have meetings as Prime Minister of Albania, and in the most absolute way I have no personal problem and even less institutional problem with the Prime Minister of Kosovo,” Rama said.

He emphasized that with the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, he only disagrees on a certain situation.
“Of course, we experience this situation and we want to deal with it in different ways. In my view, we need to address this situation together by sitting down and talking, Albini experiences it as a situation that he must address without meeting and without talking, and it is his right. I am not here to make interpretations of a psychological, folkloric, national-heroic nature. I simply said, and I repeat it, regardless of what the position of the European Union is, regardless of what the positions of other countries are, the Prime Minister of Kosovo will be invited to the meeting in Tirana for the Berlin Process and I want all six of us to be invited together there, beyond the fact that he may not be invited or they may not want to invite him to other places,” said Rama.
He emphasized that in Tirana, Albin Kurti is at home.

Rama also spoke about the meeting with the Speaker of the Assembly of Kosovo, Glauk Konjufca and his statements after the meeting, adding that he has not spoken a single word about the association draft.

“We had such a good time with Glauk, that he can’t complain about taking offense. For my part, I was not left offended after the meeting with Glauk, on the contrary I left positively energized. Because Glauk said different things outside and other things inside, you should ask Glauk, but better ask Albin, because Albini tells you. As for why we didn’t meet, I assure you that I did my best until the last minute to meet with the Prime Minister of Kosovo. I told you, he has his reasons. I don’t wish to elaborate on why because he’s in another world right now, he is not in my world and I respect the world he’s in or the awkwardness of that world. I just think that the world where
I am is bigger than the world where Albin is. Here are all our allies, all our partners, we are all together and Albin has been cut off and entered into a world that is isolated. Everyone should be respected in the situation they are in,” said Rama.
Rama also emphasized that there is no meeting of prime ministers without the Prime Minister of Kosovo in Tirana.

“Regarding the meeting in Tirana, I repeat once again, it is my duty to invite him, but not to bring him. He is invited like everyone else and I have made it clear to Brussels that there is no meeting of prime ministers without the Prime Minister of Kosovo in Tirana! This is how I understand the importance of the Prime Minister of Kosovo as far as the Berlin Process is concerned, but I do not rule out the possibility that Albin will not come. This is not excluded, because I don’t exclude anything, but I say that he will come, anyway, but don’t say then you said that he will come, and he didn’t show up, that it is his right not to come,” said Rama.
