TIRANA, Aug  15 /ATA/ The industrial park in Kucova is being converted into a recreation center to serve the citizens.

Prime Minister Edi Rama published Monday on social media images of the transformation of this park, while also drawing attention to the dilapidated condition of this space in the past.

“Good morning and with the ruins of the Kuçova industrial park, where an urban super park for all ages is taking shape, I wish you all a nice week ahead,” said Rama.

With funding from the Albanian government, the Albanian Development Fund, which is implementing this project, aims to build on the city’s tradition of developing heavy industry. In this direction, the project is intended to preserve some elements that have architectural values ​​for the city, combining them with the construction site.

The park is located in the center of the city and since the square is bordered by the stadium, the sports areas inside the park will be positioned on that side near the stadium, creating a visual connection with the stadium itself.

Also, in the southern part, this square is bounded by industrial facilities. For this reason, this side of the area will be decorated with greenery to offset the appearance of those buildings.

The northeastern part is the wing used the most by residents, since that part is also close to the city center. For this reason, the main entrance to the park is on this side, since the commercial spaces and bar-cafés are located in the northern part.

In addition to the main road of the park, it entails the construction of several other secondary roads that will connect other areas of the park in order to be accessible in other directions.

The project encompasses a space for children of different ages. This area will be about 4070 m2. The sports area, which will contain three large fields, one for football, one for volleyball and one for tennis, will have an area of ​​2293 m2. And the rest will be for general functions such as workshops, recreations, picnics, running, yoga, etc.
