TIRANA, Sept  26  /ATA/ Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Frida Krifca, discussed Monday with the management team of irrigation, drainage and flood prevention the measures in place to manage the heavy rainfall forecast in the coming days.

“The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development has all relevant infrastructure in place, 27 pumping stations working at full capacity and has intensively supervised the embankments of the rivers and the operation of the main drainage network and high water-bearing ditches,”  Krifca said.

She emphasized the importance of monitoring the safety of dams under the administration of the Ministry and all the municipalities in the country, through possible inspection and intervention to ensure their normal operation.

“Municipalities should pay special attention to the dams under their administration,” the minister emphasized.
