The director of the Agricultural and Rural Development Agency, Frida Krifca, says that beekeeping has taken precedence through the support measures offered by the National Scheme.

She cited the example of Ilir from Kukes, as the model that farmers in this sector are following thanks to the direct funding they receive from the government for the development of beekeeping, with an impact on household income, but also on supply of domestic market.

“Ilir has been supported by ARDA for three years through the National Scheme in the measure of beekeeping,” said Krifca.

She pointed out that Ilir started beekeeping with 10 hives and today, after seven years in this activity, manages about 140 beehives.

“The aim is to expand the bee farms by increasing the yield,” said Krifca.

The disbursement process started on May 20 this year with over 400 payments made so far.

The Agricultural and Rural Development Agency has included over 3 thousand beneficiary applicant farmers in 9 support measures.
