PRISTINA, April 5 /ATA/ The former spokesman of the Kosovo Liberation Army, Jakup Krasniqi, in his remarks on Wednesday before the panel of international judges in The Hague, said that he was never involved in any murder or any other criminal policy.

The former Parliament Speaker Krasniqi, said that the charges make no sense to him.
He said that he does not intend to protect himself from the smearing caused from the charges of Special Prosecution, but to shed light on the fact that he is innocent.

“I do not understand the logic behind the charge brought against me. Our people have suffered systematic violence, murder, imprisonment, torture and deportations, I hate violence, murders, imprisonment, torture and punishments not merely because they have been inflicted on our people and me personally, but because I consider them to be extremely denigrating and inhumane. Anyone who speaks the truth will say that I, Jakup Krasniqi, have never been involved in any murder, in any imprisonment, in any form of pressure on anyone. “My intellectual and human integrity has enabled me to be clear about which tools should be used to achieve national liberation in the war against those who masterminded and carried out genocide against us,” he said.
During his speech in The Hague, Krasniqi also spoke about his commitment to the KDL, denying the charges of the SPO for the persecution of members of this party, while mentioning the engagement of his brother and niece in the DLK.

“It makes no sense to accuse me with persecuting DLK members or as an accomplice in a common goal to attack DLK. I myself was a member of the DLK. My family members were members of the DLK. My collaborators and fellow fighters were members of the DLK. Only one perverse mind can think that I was an accomplice in the persecution of my family members and thousands of collaborators and fellow fighters,” he said.
Krasniqi said that in June 1998 he was offered to take on the role as the spokesperson of the Kosovo Liberation Army, which he accepted without a second thought.

He said that his statements as a spokesman for the KLA should be seen as part of the propaganda to affirm the liberation war.
