Kosovo’s Euro-Atlantic perspective will not be compromised, although QUINT states considered Kosovo decision to be contrary to its European future.

The EC spokeswoman, Ana Pisonero, in a written response to KosovaPress, expressed regret that no consensus was reached to hold Serbian elections in Kosovo.

She emphasizes that Kosovo has a clear European perspective and EU will support Kosovo in its rapprochement with EU, starting through implementation of Stabilization Association Agreement EU Kosovo that entered into force in 2016. Kosovo’s European pathway also depends on the normalization of relations with Serbia. We are sorry that no consensus was reached between the parties after Kosovo’s decision to turn down a constructive proposal submitted by QUINT countries. We consider this decision to run counter to Kosovo’s commitment to its European future and the principle of protecting the democratic rights of all its citizens, including the non-majority population,” she says.
