Invited to give a lecture at the National Diplomatic Academy of Korea, Minister Hasani spoke about the challenges of the Western Balkans region, EU integration and Albania’s role in maintaining stability in the region.

“By anchoring these countries within the European framework, the EU aims to irreversibly stabilize the region and oppose the influence of external actors. The six countries of the Western Balkans have made progress in creating a common regional market. We believe in the European Western Balkans”, he said.

The meeting with the young people of the Diplomatic Academy in Seoul followed similar meetings that Minister Hasani has held in Spain, Hungary, etc.

“We cannot change the past, but together we can do more for our future”, the minister emphasized in the meeting with Korean diplomats.

The two countries established diplomatic relations 33 years ago. /p.s./

Hasani presented the facilities and opportunities that Albania offers to foreign investors and emphasized Albania’s commitment to expanding bilateral economic relations for business, taking advantage of Albania’s strategic location and the EU’s perspective for better access to the markets of Western Balkans.

The two interlocutors also discussed on cooperation in priority sectors such as information and communication technologies, energy, tourism, education, innovation, agriculture, trade and cultural exchanges, while positively assessing Korea’s achievements and development in high technology. /p.s./

Minister Hasani and Tae-yul expressed their joint commitment to the intensification of bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation in various fields of common interest, especially in trade.

The Albanian chief diplomat emphasized Albania’s support for the Indo-Pacific Strategy, which, according to him, aims to strengthen regional security and stability, increasing the role of South Korea as a reliable partner and leader.

Minister Hasani also paid a visit to the ‘Yura Corporation’, the global supplier in the automotive industry, which has been operating in Albania for 6 years.

During the meeting with CEO Dae Yeol Ohm, Hasani underlined that Yura’s branch in Albania is a proof of our business-friendly environment for foreign direct investments while he considered Albania as a center for the production of various parts based in environmentally friendly technologies.

The visit of the Albanian chief diplomat Igli Hasani to the Republic of Korea comes within the framework of the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. /p.s./

Minister Hasani will hold several bilateral meetings with top officials of the country, with the aim of promoting cooperation in various fields and especially to use the untapped potentials in terms of economic cooperation and trade exchange between Albania and South Korea.

During the meeting, the president positively assessed the very good political cooperation between the two countries.

Begaj expressed the belief that this visit would contribute to further strengthening this cooperation, especially the economic one, but also in the field of education, science and health.

At the meeting, there was also positively assessed the cooperation within the United Nations Organization, as well as Albania’s contribution to the Security Council as a non-permanent member, for peace and security in the Korean Peninsula but also at the global level, especially after Russia’s brutal military aggression against Ukraine.

The head of state also expressed gratitude for the support that South Korea has given to Kosovo. /j.p/p.s./
