The renowned singer and songwriter has chosen the kindergarten No. 42 in the former bloc area, in the centre of Tirana, to leave a trace in Albania’s reconstruction process in the wake of the devastating earthquake that hit Albania on November 26, 2019.

After a meeting at the Tirana Mayor’s office, Dua Lipa, accompanied by Mayor Erion Veliaj, toured the site where new kindergarten is being built. The renowned singer will contribute to furnishing this whole kindergarten for 300 children.

“We have picked this kindergarten right at the heart of Tirana, which will welcome 300 kids. I hope they will all become as successful as you, because I believe that children, who are well brought up become decent citizens. Dua is today the world’s most famous artist, but most importantly she is a good girl! Being a good artist is not enough and we have seen many good artists indeed, but you should first be a good human being and Dua is good person and today she adapted a kindergarten that we will name after her foundation the Sunny Hill Kindergarten,” Mayor Veliaj said.

The internationally famous Albanian singer, Dua Lipa said she was happy to be able to contribute to the post-earthquake reconstruction program in Albania, but above all, she said she was proud to be Albanian.

“First of all I would like to congratulate you on the work you have already done. It will be a very beautiful kindergarten building. I feel really proud that Sunny Hill Foundation is contributing to construction of this kindergarten. I am looking forward to seeing many good things happening in our country. I am very proud to be Albanian and it would be an honour to help with whatever I can,” Dua Lipa said.

The built back kindergarten will open its doors to kids on September 15.
