Vata/ US Ambassador Yuri Kim has supported the appeal of State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, who asks the citizens not to sell the vote and to report cases of vote selling and buying.

In her post, the US ambassador in Tirana, Yuri Kim, appeals to the citizens not to sell their right. Don’t surrender your power to criminals. Only YOU must choose your future.

Also, US Ambassador Kim posted the publication of the State Election Commissioner, Ilirjan Celibashi, who called on citizens not to sell their vote and to report the cases.

“Citizens. Report and denounce corrupt cases of vote buying. Report and denounce the cases of unlawful campaign financing. From 10.03.2021 “The portal of denunciation to the CEC,” he says.

The video published by Celibashi features the penalties for electoral crimes.
-Selling and buying of vote is punishable by 1-5 years in prison
-Taking a photo of ballot paper is punishable by 3 months to 3 years in prison
-Family or double voting is punishable by 1 to 3 years in prison
– Intimidating or forcing to vote or not, obstructing voting or voting illegally and even intentionally falsifying or damaging election material is punishable by 6 to 7 years in prison.
