Designed for children and teenagers, the programme features a selection of animated and short films exploring issues relevant to young audiences, including identity, family, friendship, love, loss, belonging and relationships with the world around them.

Through a range of stories, the films aim not only to entertain young viewers but also encourage them to reflect, ask questions and see the world from different perspectives.

The programme also gives young audiences an active role through audience voting and educational activities, allowing children and teenagers to express their views and engage more closely with cinema.

The KIDs category features 14 films from countries including Kazakhstan, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary, Slovakia, Norway, Sweden, Romania, China, Japan, the United States, Ireland, Iran and South Korea.

The TEENs programme features 11 films addressing more complex themes of adolescence, personal growth and identity.

Through the international selection, TIFF aims to give young audiences an opportunity to discover different stories and perspectives and explore the world through the experiences of others.
