TIRANA, May 10 /ATA/ Infectious disease doctor, Tritan Kalo, has struck a note of optimism about the pandemic situation in the country, while sharing the news that the country has recorded the second day with no admission to the Infectious Diseases Hospital.

Kalo says it is still early to jump to conclusion, as there is a lot of work to be done to definitely get out of the pandemics tunnel.

“Still in the last 24 hours no one was admitted to Covid-1 / Infectious Diseases Ward of Tirana University Hospital Center. Awareness raising, taking care of ourselves and those around us, mask wearing, personal and collective hygiene practices, social distancing and vaccination at high rates are becoming powerful allies in our fight against the invisible enemy, the “worldwide plague” of the pandemic caused by Sars-Cov2 / Covid-19 virus, ” said Kalo.

Kalo went on saying that the decline of infection cases has silenced even those who were opposed to the vaccination.

“If for reasons of illiteracy, unwillingness to support life, political animosities, you say maybe even what you do not think, socially and personally I beg you not hinder us in the noble and humane mission of white coasts,” he says.

Yet, says Kalo, the time has not come to “open the bottles of champagne” and cheer for victory.

“Still we have a long way to go in the pandemic tunnel, but the way out of it is fast approaching and this makes us optimistic,” Kalo declares.

“Vigilant and sharp-minded till the last case of Sars-Cov2/Covid-19,” he says.
