In a statement on social media platform X, Minister Hoxha emphasized that during the meeting he reaffirmed Albania’s full alignment with the European Union’s Common Foreign and Security Policy, reflecting the country’s unwavering commitment to the principles and responsibilities shared with its European partners.

“Albania continues to be a strong and trusted partner of the European Union, firmly upholding the fundamental values at the core of our shared European project and actively contributing to both regional stability and the security of the European continent,’ stated Minister Hoxha.

In a period marked by escalating wars, conflicts, and hybrid threats that increasingly challenge European and global security, the Minister of Foreign Affairs underscored the imperative of sustaining a strong and unwavering commitment to the promotion of peace, democracy, and the rules-based international order.

“‘At this pivotal stage of Albania’s journey toward European Union membership, the strengthening of the Security and Defense Partnership with the EU, now entering its second year, underscores our commitment to deepening dialogue and advancing practical cooperation in support of Europe’s strategic resilience and defense capabilities,’ Minister Hoxha added.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Albania, as a committed member of NATO and an actively engaged candidate for European Union membership, remains ready to make further contributions to collective security by strengthening its capabilities and preparedness, supporting crisis management, and enhancing shared resilience, while simultaneously contributing to the reinforcement of the European Union’s role on the global stage.

During the meeting, Kallas commended Albania for its full alignment with the European Union’s foreign policy, noting that this makes Albania, among other things, a reliable ally for the Union itself.
