Mitrovica-born Soprano Elbenita Kajtazi studied at the Music Academy of Mitrovica and graduated from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Prishtina, making her debut with the Kosovo Philharmonic Orchestra in 2009.

Kajtazi said that she had contact with the song during the war period, when she used to sing silently as a way of getting away from the reality of the war.

She said that the world-famous soprano Ermonela Jaho was the beacon who guided her to a career in world opera.

“I feel very lucky to have met the right people at the right time,” Kajtazi said.

Elbenita Kajtazi has won several national and international awards. /p.s./
