TIRANA, March 30 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Wednesday that everyone is equal before the law, adding that Justice Reform is coming to fruition.

Pressed for the accusations against the resigned MP Alqi Bllako, Rama said that “the responsibilities are individual and my stand is not about persons who are presumed innocent until the final court decision, instead it is about a process that we must push through to the end, Justice Reform. ”

“Before the law, there are no powerful MPs, ministers, politicians. No one is privileged. All are equal before the law. While everything is happening, this is nothing else but the answer for all those who did not believe that justice reform would be implemented in Albania and that the day would come when even people vested with immunity and power would face justice,” said Rama.

Prime Minister added that this majority has been the spearhead of the Justice Reform and will continue to support it not to capture justice, but to create the conditions so that with time, hard work, patience, its ups and downs, the justice reform will level the playing field and guarantee a fair Albania for all in the next generation. ”

“From personal and human perspective I am definitely very sorry for that, but from that of duty I see these things happening as a result of what we have done,” said Rama.
Rama said that “there is no collective responsibility in the democratic system”.

“Due to the Justice Reform launched by this majority and this party here, which does credit to this country, we have come to the point where there is no political shield on the path to justice. When it comes to the point of finding people guilty behind microphones and in media outlets, I will never go that far. “I am neither a prosecutor nor a judge, a role which many play here,” said Rama.

PM added that today Albania has changed and will continue to be like this from now on.

“No one should be surprised, everyone responsible will be brought to justice, be them from majority or minority. I do not comment on the decisions of the SPAK, the courts for a fundamental reason. For me, all that matters is this mission which must follow its path unhindered by this guarantor force. “There may be setbacks, unfortunate moments for justice itself, controversial decisions, but all of these are acceptable in this process of reviving the justice,” Rama said.

Asked about the accusations over the waste treatment plants, Rama said “we have built them and I am very proud of those works.”

“The works are there, it is such an important work that today Albanian citizens breathe freely. If in this process or any other process, certain individuals, in addition to doing the work of the state, also put money into their own pocket, this has nothing to do with either the government program or the output, it is an offense. It is a responsibility that, if determined by justice, then we should all be very pleased that both the work is implemented and the lessons are taught, that whoever uses the duty for personal gain will end up where until yesterday no one expected,” Rama added.

The Prime Minister added that these are individual responsibilities, while what is happening today in Albania is a new value that is being built by the SP, by this ruling majority.
