TIRANA, Nov 15 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Wednesday that parliamentary investigations of the opposition should not run against the Constitution.

In his remarks at the Extended Assembly of the Socialist Party in Peshkopi, Rama said that, “the opposition has not been denied any right.”
“The opposition has been denied, maybe, the opportunity to misuse the right to do its duty – overreaching the right in the name of being an MP. It is not true, it is a lie that every deputy and a group of deputies have the right to do whatever they wish and they have the right to breach the Constitution and the laws. This is not true, this is a lie”, he said.

Rama said that, “definitely the opposition has the constitutional right to conduct parliamentary investigations, but at the same time, it is very clear that the opposition’s parliamentary investigations should not run counter to the Constitution, should not overreach the Constitution and for this, the Constitutional Court has established a very clear framework: what can be done in light of this right and what cannot be done, not through windows, but if they reach the terrace and climb up the seven windows, there is no chance they will do it with our consent.”
